The exercise programs
emphasize freedom and form of the body and
provide opportunities for emotional expressiveness
and creativity. As you grow and learn, you will
expand your comfort zone and achieve greater
fitness and wellness levels. Currently the following
classes are offered, but please consult our schedule
for the most current offerings and times.
NIYOLATES
Niyolates, created by Rolin SanJuan, founder and
owner of
Bodies inMotion Wellness Studio, is an expressive
fitness and awareness movement program. It
combines the dynamic poses of yoga, the explosive
power of the martial arts, the grace & spontaneity of
modern and ethnic dances and the stillness &
concentration of Tai-Chi. The music often defines the
spirit of the workout. Some clients' say, "Niyolates
puts a little magic in your soul."
PROP NIYOLATES
This class embodies all of the movement principles of
Niyolates but adds tools or "props" such as poles,
light hand weights, bands, and balls to enhance the
workout with full-body conditioning movements. The
footwork sequences classic NIYOLATES footwork
sequences create contrast and flow with upper body
movement.
CONDITIONING NIYOLATES
This class offers a slight twist to classic NIYOLATES:
pick up some light hand-weights and continue to
explore all of the possibilities of your movement.
Slow and rhythmic, fast and staccato, sweeping
undulating, quivering! You will be carried away with
the all-surrounding music and the high energy and
motivational skills of our instructors.
MAT & BALL PILATES
Joseph H. Pilates, an accomplished gymnast, boxer,
and dancer who lived in the early half of the last
century, created Pilates. Dancers and gymnasts
have been using this method for decades. It will
create longer and leaner muscles, increase core
strength, stability, balance and flexibility.
Conditioning Burst is a whole
body
workout designed to tone muscles, increase range of
motion and develop core strength. With the use of
weights and resistance bands we will build a
connected body while incorporating bursts of
movement to increase cardio- vascular fitness. All
levels are welcome.
Functional Training:
Functional exercise involves performing movements
that will help you to perform everyday activities
more easily: pushing, bending, turning, standing,
walking, jumping and lifting to name a few. A variety
of methods are used including those that involve joint
acceleration, stabilization, core strength, and
neuromusular efficiency.
GYROKINESIS®
A class that utilizes a group of flowing exercises done
sitting on a special stool, utilizing a special mat to
stimulate your neuromuscular system and increase
the range of motion in your spine. Every part of your
body is stimulated, from your fingers and eyes to
your wrists, pine, shoulder blades, elbows, legs, and
feet. It also utilizes core strength.
GYROTONIC®
Introduction
These are specially designed exercises done on
machines invented by the founder, Juliu Hovarth.
The workout provides the benefits of swimming,
yoga, and dance in one practice. The circular,
undulating movements stretch and strengthen the
muscles in a gentle and fluid manner. This class
requires a sign-up. It can be done in a small group
or individually with a trainer.
Semi-Private Sessions
Sessions are available in
GYROTONIC®
and traditional weight training. These are arranged
with the instructor and a special program will be
created to meet your needs. Call for details.
